Richard Fossey is a professor emeritus at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana. He received his law degree from the University of Texas and his doctorate from Harvard Graduate School of Education. He is a past editor of Catholic Southwest, A Journal of History and Culture. Richard lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he enjoys writing about American Catholic history and American culture. He enjoys listening to traditional country & western music, watching classic American movies, fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, bird watching, and gardening.
